In this setup guide, you’ll learn how to move or copy contacts between different lists in Heyloyalty. Follow these steps to successfully move or copy your contacts.
Step 1: Go to the list view and select contacts
Go to the List Overview in Heyloyalty. Click the name of the list from which you want to move or copy contacts, or click the three dots (•••) next to the list and select “View Contacts.”
On the Contact List, select the contacts you want to move or copy. To do this, check the box next to each email address or cell phone number you want to move or copy. If you want to move or copy all contacts, click the arrow next to Choose (located on the left side under the heading Contact view for the list). Then select All.
Step 2: Configure the move/copy settings
Once you’ve selected the contacts you want to move or copy, scroll to the bottom of your contact list and select Action for multiple contacts.
Here, you can choose to either move or copy contacts to another list.
You are now ready to configure the settings for your move or copy:
- Choose list: Select the list to which the contacts should be copied or moved.
- Handling Duplicates: You have the following options:
- Do nothing: Moves or copies contacts only if there is no duplicate.
- Overwrite the duplicate: Moves or copies contacts from the original list and overwrites the duplicate on the destination list. Fields that have no value on the contact on the original list are deleted on the duplicate. In other words, if the email address support@heyloyalty.com is moved from the original list to the destination list and the member does not have a first name on the original list, the first name will be deleted from the contact on the destination list.
- Update the duplicate: Moves or copies the contact to the destination list and fills in the fields that are missing on the duplicate. If there are differences in the contact’s data, the data from the original list will be used to update the duplicate in the destination list.
- Ignore duplicates: Moves or copies the contact regardless of existing duplicates.
- Field for duplicate handling: Select the field Heyloyalty should use to match your contacts. Most often, this will be the email address.
- Send welcome flows and update flows: If you have set up an update or welcome flow on the list to which you are copying or moving the contact, you must decide whether these flows should be sent to that contact.
- Send webhooks: If you have an integration that uses webhooks, it may be a good idea to send updates informing other systems that you have copied or moved a contact to another list.
Once you have decided on the settings above, click the Move button (when moving) or the Choose button (when copying).
After that, you’ll be able to see the changes in the lists you’ve been working on.
